Industries that need RhinoTap to level up their networking game!

  1. Artist – Artists are their own brand. There are usually no employees for an artist, and no classic office space. It’s the artist, the studio, and the product. Business cards are a great way for artists to showcase their art and get their name out there at the same time. Not every art buyer or gallery owner will stumble upon your website or find you on social media. Artists need to get their name out there by going to other gallery openings, shows and conventions and handing out their business cards. You can even include samples of your work right on the business card itself, complete with your skillsets, phone number, and online webpages.
  2. Blogger – This is a really important one. Bloggers usually work alone, but this doesn’t mean that they’re the only person involved with the production of their blog. Bloggers work alongside with guest contributors, sponsors, advertisers, and even commenters to keep their blog alive. Blogs grow as the number of these supporters grows. Most blogs report on the news of one industry, so, as a blogger, you should be heavily immersed in what you write about. This means going to industry events and handing out your custom, professional business card to everyone to grow your network of readers, authors, and sponsors.
  3. Musician – There are millions and millions of musicians in the world, all trying to get a spot on the big stage. What can set you apart? Professional memorability. Make yourself stand out by printing custom business cards for your music career. Venue bookers go through thousands of acts every month. The smart musician will leave a piece of his brand behind, and not just a band sticker. Put your phone number on the card and put some extra information about your act and type of music. Business cards can keep your music career within arm’s reach of a booker at all times.
  4. Computer Programmer – Developers, coders, software engineers, programmers–every computer specialist is different. Similarly, every programmer has a different set of skills. Whether you’re back-end, Android, or Java, you need to differentiate yourself. A business card is a great place to showcase your talents. Along with your name and contact information, list your strengths–brag a little bit. Employers look for creativity and succinctness in developers. Take that as a challenge! Try and fit all your skills and information on your card in a cool and creative way, without crowding the card or making it too busy. (Hint: Use the back!)
  5. Farmer – Business cards are a good move for farmers who are ready to take their crop to the next level. Once you start selling product rapidly, it’s time to expand. For farmers, a little market could be the drive. Hand out your card at the market; establish yourself as a confident and professional businessperson. A farmer can start making deliveries, and that’s where your contact information comes in. Start a business by delivering your crop to your community.
  6. Bankers / Brokers  Dealing with other people’s money means that you need to create an excellent first impression. People rely very much on non-verbal signals and first impressions and will become reticent if they feel that something is off about an individual who is about to invest or take care of their finances. Presenting a professional looking card and a clean appearance in a business suit are the first two steps in the right direction for any professional in the financial services industry. Even independent brokers need to be careful about building a personal brand and reflect it in the design and look of their business cards, while banks and other financial institutions must always seek professional design and printing services for their cards.

  7. Graphic Designer – People working in this industry have to prove their talent and skills if they want to be successful. The first impression is critical. No matter how vast and varied your portfolio is, if you do not have a set of great business cards when you meet with a potential employer or client, you will have already lost the chance to make a good impression. After all, if someone is skilled enough to code or design websites, corporate identity graphic elements, or brochures, the respective person should showcase their skills in their business card.

  8. Realtors – Just as financial services, real estate is an industry where trust and confidence are the key factors of success. Real estate agencies and brokers can express this, among others, through great business cards. It is recommended that Realtors design their cards to reflect the specific real estate niche they serve: commercial or residential, home buying and selling, office space leasing, etc.

    8) Entertainment Industry

The entertainment industry runs on personal branding & image, and having the right business card is a vital part of personal branding. Talent Agents, from big time sports & movies to small town talent & models. Night club, bar & premier restaurant owners & promoters. TV & Movie Producers, and event planners: Brand perception is often a deciding factor client use to decide whom to take a meeting with.

    7) Designers, Photographers, Artists, and Design Firms

With Infinite design possibilities and microscopic level of detail, no card can better capture the unique creative talents of most artist better than metal cards can. In an industry that caters to visual stimuli, metal business cards are the ultimate display of art and design. Many customers will showcase their photos, artwork, or design capabilities directly on the card.

    6) Entrepreneurs & Executives

As an entrepreneur, you have to hustle for every new lead and hustle to get shareholders like employees and investors to follow you. Many choose metal cards that hustle for them: A card that is a conversation starter, that is kept rather than discarded, gets the call, makes the sale.

As for Executives, when you’re the best at your game, you have the best business cards: metal cards.  Metal business cards are often gifted to executives along with a promotion, or as a sign of thanks or commemoration.

    5) Salesmen & Saleswomen

Coffee isn’t the only thing reserved for closers. The reason women and men in sales across industries are turning to metal business cards has to do with the digital age we live in. Technology has shortened the sales cycle, meaning first impressions carry more weight than ever. A saleswoman with a metal card conveys experience, trust, and superior knowledge… everything you want in your supplier.

    4) Manufacturing / Metal Workers

Manufacturing more than any industry experiences a true brand connection with metal cards. Metal Cards convey a high level of quality, precision, and durability – all words any manufacturing firm would want to be associated with their brand. Not only do our stainless steel cards go over well in manufacturing, but many in aerospace and automobile industries love our aluminium business cards and carbon fiber business cards.

    3) Financial Advisors/Wealth Management/Investment Bankers/ CPA’s

This industry being near the top of our list is of no surprise, if anyone can realize the enormous ROI associated with metal cards, it’s the men and women whose calling is finance. When your job is to convince strangers to entrust you with their hard earned money, it’s imperative you convey a quality brand that showcases experience and trust, no card answers that call better than a metal card.

    2) Lawyers & Attorneys

This should be no surprise to anyone, metal cards perfectly complement the mahogany desks, genuine leather chairs, and fine tailored Italian suits that are often associated with law offices. Lawyers and Attorneys have a very particular image they need to uphold, they look no further than the finest looking cards money can buy.

    1) Realtors

The interesting thing is that most of our clients in this Real Estate are not realtors dealing in luxury properties. Why? We common folk put our trust (and often life savings) in realtors to locate and negotiate our future homes. And because Real Estate is nearly 100% commission based, anyone with a premium metal business card immediately comes across as a successful agent that gets deals done.

Bakers and chefs – perhaps unsurprisingly, our bakers and chefs, who often have creative roles in their establishments, responded better to bright colour schemes. They also reacted more positively to having a company logo either left or centralised – which gives you more room to do what you’d like when designing your artwork.
Designers – this one may shock you! Those in the design profession much preferred neutral or primary tones when it came to colour palettes and would much rather the logo was either placed to the right or the left. None of the designers reacted favourably to business card designs with centralised logos. They also thought the company info should be right or left-aligned on the opposite side to the logo and that the fonts should be simple and evenly spaced.
Estate agents – the estate agents reacted much better to big bold colours and prominent logos. They really didn’t react well to neutral tones and a must for them was to have the contact details prominent; front and centre as well as being bigger than the logo itself.
Personal trainers – the personal trainers preferred business card designs to be simple and to the point, bright and bold or monotone, with a big logo front and centre. Ultimately your logo is your brand as a trainer and that’s certainly how they seemed to want their business cards to look too.
Marketing agencies – our marketing agencies reacted well to simple and stylish cards with neutral and pastel colour schemes. Much like the designers, they too preferred the logos to be placed on the left or right, with the contact information on the opposite side.
Photographers – slightly different to the rest, the photographers we tested liked both neutral and bold coloured business card designs - and they’re completely flexible when it comes to the positioning of contact details.
Sales – those in sales like to keep it simple and fuss-free, with either the logo on the right and details on the left, or vice versa. Like designers, salespeople also showed no reaction to centralised logos.
Hairdressers and barbers – led by style, our hairdressers and barbers favoured both the monotone and bright colour schemes. For them, the perfect business card designs feature a large logo, placed either centrally or to the right.
Taxi drivers – reacting much better to monotone and bold colour schemes, our taxi drivers reacted well to contact information being placed on the left of the card, with the font being more modern and eye-catching.
Tradespeople – just like personal trainers, their logo and branding helps to set them apart from competitors, so it’s no surprise that our tradespeople prefer their business card designs with large logos, boldly placed either centrally or to the left.
